Letting Go

Relationships that you have to struggle with never end up working out in the end. The ones that work, they just plain work. Therefore, if it’s not working, let it go. -Unknown

When should you rush into the building, and when should you let it burn? -Unknown

Letting go isn’t about giving up, it’s about accepting that some things just cannot be. -Unknown

Sometimes you can’t go back around. Sometimes, things can’t fit like they used to. -Unknown

Maybe it’s for the best that we hurt each other so much we have no choice to let go. Maybe if we didn’t, we never would. -Unknown

You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run. -Kenny Rogers, The Gambler

I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken – and I’d rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken pieces as long as I live. -Margaret Mitchell

Some think holding on makes you stronger, other say it’s letting go. -Unknown

Though they might be the best days we will ever know we will have to leave them in the past. -Little Texas, What Might Have Been

Giving up doesn't mean you are weak. It only means that you are strong enough to let go. -Unknown

Let go if there's no reason for holding on. -Unknown

It's hard to hold to something you know would never be yours in any way you could think of. You just have to let go and face the fact that while the good things never last, some don't even start. -Unknown

To let go isn't to forget, not think about or ignore. It doesn't leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn't winning and it isn't losing. It's not about pride and it's not about how you appear, and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past. Letting go isn't blocking memories or thinking sad thoughts, and it doesn't leave emptiness, hurt or sadness. It's not giving in or giving up. Letting go isn't about loss, and it's not defeat.
To let go is to cherish memories, but to overcome and to move on. It is having an open mind and confidence in the future. Letting go is accepting, it is learning and experiencing and growing. To let go is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow. It's about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain. Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving. Letting go is growing up. It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. To let go is to open a door, to clear a path and to set yourself free.
