Tiny Vessels

Tiny Vessels

this is the moment that you know
that you told her that you loved her but you don't.
you touch her skin and then you think
that she is beautiful but she don't mean a thing to me.
yeah, she is beautiful but she don't mean a thing to me.
i spent two weeks in Silverlake
tha California sun cascading down my face
there was a girl with light brown streaks
and she was beautiful but she didn't mean a thing to me.
yeah she was beautiful but she didn't mean a thing to me.
wanted to believe in all the words that i was speaking
as we moved together in the dark
and all the friends that i was telling
and all the playful mispellings
and every bite i gave you left a mark
tiny vessels oozed into your neck
and formed the bruises
that you said you didn't want to fade
but they did and so did i that day
all i see are dark grey clouds
in the distance moving closer with every hour
so when you ask "was something wrong?"
that i think "you're damn right there is but we can't talk about it now.
no, we can't talk about it now."
so one last touch and then you'll go
and we'll pretend that it meant something so much more
but it was vile, and it was cheap
she you are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me
yeah, you are beautiful but you don't mean a thing to me.

Mourning

Mourning

Is there something that you are trying to say
Don't hold back now
It's been a long time since I felt this way
So don't hold back now

I purposely forgot about
Loving anyone
Cause I'm the only one who has
Who has been stepped upon

Is there something that you are trying to say
Cause I can take it
Cause I grew up a man this way
And if I'm hurt I'll shake it

I'll crawl back into my cave
That's how I'll make it
Cause out of all this hurt we have
Beauty thus become
Beauty thus become

[Chorus:]
In the mourning I can see the sights
No wonder I could never keep you satisfied
In the mourning I can see inside
Myself and all the things that you were trying to hide
[Repeat]

Wishing all the best for you
And now I will say goodbye
Cause all the shit that we've been through
Put wisdom in my eyes

So walk away, don't turn around
Cause I won't be standing here
Cause all the lies that I've been living through
Are becoming very clear
And beauty thus become

[Chorus]

Then you conned me into thinking
That all I had was you
The small insinuations
Were cutting me through
Cutting me through

And now I stand alone here
Stronger than before
And I'll never go back
Never go back
Never go

Falling

Falling

It seems like
Out of nowhere
I'm coming apart
Nothing could've saved me
You went straight for my heart

When I've almost had enough
Something about you draws me back again
When I've almost given up
Something about you pulls me in
And we're falling

Feels like
I am reaching
Tryin' to hold on to you
And I know that
There's still hope here
And I know you'll come through

When I've almost had enough
Something about you draws me back again
When I've almost given up
Something about you pulls me in
And we're falling

When I've almost had enough
When I've almost given up
We start falling
And we're falling

Good Bye

Good Bye

I remember holding onto you
All them long and lonely nights I put you though
Some where in there I'm sure I made you cry
But I can't remember if we said good bye

I recalled all them nights down in Mexico
The one place I might never go in my life again
Was the just off somewhere just to hide
But I can't remember if we said goodbye

I only miss you every now and then
Like the soft breeze blowing on from the Caribbean
Each November I break down and cry
But I can't remember if we said good bye

I recalled all them nights down in Mexico
The only place I might never go in my life again
Was I just off somewhere just to hide
But I can't remember if we said good bye

Goodbye

Try

Try
All I know
Is everything is not as it's sold
but the more I grow the less I know
And I have lived so many lives
Though I'm not old
And the more I see, the less I grow
The fewer the seeds the more I sow

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try

I wish I hadn't seen all of the realness
And all the real people are really not real at all
The more I learn, the more I learn
The more I cry, the more I cry
As I say goodbye to the way of life
I thought I had designed for me

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
I'm all I'll ever be
But all I can do is try
Try

All of the moments that already passed
We'll try to go back and make them last
All of the things we want each other to be
We never will be
And that's wonderful, and that's life
And that's you, baby
This is me, baby
And we are, we are, we are, we are
Free
In our love
We are free in our love

One Moment More

One Moment More

Hold me
Even though I know you're leaving
And show me
All the reasons you would stay
It's just enough to feel your breath on mine
To warm my soul and ease my mind
You've go to hold me and show me love
Give me
Just one part of you to cling to
And keep me
Everywhere you are
It's just enough to steal my heart and run
And fade out with the fooling sun
Oh, please don't go
Let me have you just one moment more
Oh, all I need
All I want is just one moment more
You've got to hold me and keep me
Tell me that someday you'll be returning
And maybe
Maybe I'll believe
It's just enough to see a shooting star
To know you're never really far
It's just enough to see a shooting star
To know you're never really gone
Oh, please don't go
Let me have you just one moment more
Oh, all I need
All I want is just one moment more
Oh, please don't go
Let me have you just one moment more
Oh, all I need
All I want is just one moment more
You've got to hold me and maybe I'll believe
So hold me
Even though I know you're leaving

Acceptance

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't. -Erica Jong

How difficult it is for any of us to listen to our own voice or maintain our own beliefs in the presence of others. There is a great need in all of us to be accepted, but you must trust what is unique or odd or different about yourself, even if it is unpopular. -Unknown

Old people love to give good advice; it compensates them for their inability to set a bad example. -Francois Duc de La Rouchefoucauld

Some people like my advice so much that they frame it upon the wall instead of using it. -Gordon R. Dickson

Some things you can’t change. They just are. -Unknown

Unthemed

If you do not learn to hate you will never be lonely enough to love easily nor will you always be brave although it does not grow any easier. Do not pretend to convenience beliefs even when they are righteous. You will never be able to defend your city while shouting.
Remember, our sun is not the most noteworthy star, only the nearest.
Respect whatever pain you bring back from your dreaming, but do not look for new gods in the sea nor in any part of a rainbow.
Each time you love, love as deeply as if it were forever, only nothing is eternal.
Speak proudly to your children wherever you may find them. Tell them you are the offspring of slaves and your mother was a princess of darkness.
-Unknown

No one can tell what goes on between the person you were and theperson you become. No one can chart that blue and lonely sectionof hell. There are no maps of the change. You just...come outthe other side. Or you don't. -Stephen King, The Stand

Letting Go

Relationships that you have to struggle with never end up working out in the end. The ones that work, they just plain work. Therefore, if it’s not working, let it go. -Unknown

When should you rush into the building, and when should you let it burn? -Unknown

Letting go isn’t about giving up, it’s about accepting that some things just cannot be. -Unknown

Sometimes you can’t go back around. Sometimes, things can’t fit like they used to. -Unknown

Maybe it’s for the best that we hurt each other so much we have no choice to let go. Maybe if we didn’t, we never would. -Unknown

You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run. -Kenny Rogers, The Gambler

I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken – and I’d rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken pieces as long as I live. -Margaret Mitchell

Some think holding on makes you stronger, other say it’s letting go. -Unknown

Though they might be the best days we will ever know we will have to leave them in the past. -Little Texas, What Might Have Been

Giving up doesn't mean you are weak. It only means that you are strong enough to let go. -Unknown

Let go if there's no reason for holding on. -Unknown

It's hard to hold to something you know would never be yours in any way you could think of. You just have to let go and face the fact that while the good things never last, some don't even start. -Unknown

To let go isn't to forget, not think about or ignore. It doesn't leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn't winning and it isn't losing. It's not about pride and it's not about how you appear, and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past. Letting go isn't blocking memories or thinking sad thoughts, and it doesn't leave emptiness, hurt or sadness. It's not giving in or giving up. Letting go isn't about loss, and it's not defeat.
To let go is to cherish memories, but to overcome and to move on. It is having an open mind and confidence in the future. Letting go is accepting, it is learning and experiencing and growing. To let go is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow. It's about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain. Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving. Letting go is growing up. It is realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. To let go is to open a door, to clear a path and to set yourself free.

Magic

I do believe in magic. I was born and raised in a magic time, in a magic town, among magicians. When I was twelve, the world was my magic lantern, and by its green spirit glow I saw the past, the present, and into the future. We all start out knowing magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand. But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out. We get put in the straight and narrow and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God’s sake. And you know why we’re told that? Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wilderness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad at what they allowed to whither in themselves. After you get so far away from it, though, you can’t really get it back. You can have seconds of it. Just seconds of knowing and remembering. When people get all weepy at movies, it’s because in that dark theatre, the golden pool of magic is touched, just briefly. Then they come out into the hard sun of logic and reason again and it dries up, and they’re left feeling a little heartsad and not knowing why. For the briefest of instants, you have stepped into the magic realm. The truth of life is that every year we get farther away from the essence that is born within us. We get shouldered with burdens, some of them good, some of them not so good. Things happen to us. Loved ones die. People get in wrecks, and get crippled. It’s not hard to do, in this world of crazy mazes. Life itself does its best to take that memory of magic away from us. You don’t know its happening until one day you feel like you’ve lost something, but you’re not sure what it is. -Robert McCammon

If you can seen the magic in fairy tales, you can face the future. -Unknown

To the child in you who laughs and plays and jumps on the bed when no one’s around. To the dreamer in you who wishes on pennies and candles, and still knows the words to "star light, star bright, first star I see tonight." To the believer in you who never gives up, who radiates hope, and who makes everyone else believe in the magic of wishing and dreaming. - Unknown

Walk through a dream today with childlike footsteps that only know the limits of a young imagination. Walk through a dream today, until you reach that place inside where wishes are made and magic is born. -Unknown

The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper. -Eden Phillpotts

We think, sometimes, there’s not a dragon left. Not one brave knight, not a single princess gliding through secret forests, enchanting deer and butterflies with her smile. We think, sometimes that ours is an age past frontiers, past adventures. Destiny, it’s way over the horizon; glowing shadows galloped past long ago and gone. What a pleasure to be wrong. Princesses, knights, enchantments, and dragons; mystery and adventure...not only are they here-and-now, they’re all that ever lived on earth. Our century, they changed clothes, of course. Dragons wear government costumes today, and failure suits and disaster outfits. Society’s demons screech, whirl down on us should we life our eyes from the ground, dare we turn right at corners we’ve been told to turn left. So crafty have appearances become that princesses and knights can be hidden from each other, can be hidden from themselves. Yet masters of reality still meet in dreams to tell us that we’ve never lost the shield we need against dragons, that blue-fire voltage arcs through us now to change our world as we wish. Intuition whispers true: we’re not dust, we’re magic. -Richard Bach, The Bridge Across Forever
